The History of Unitec
Founded in 1966, the Unitec organization was a key part of United Technologies for 18 years, providing the service and maintenance elements of the group’s elevator arm alongside Otis Elevator.
In 2019 United Technologies divested its elevator business and Unitec Elevator became a separate entity. Since then, Unitec has evolved into a well-funded, innovative maintenance and modernization business with an impressive service footprint of commercial and residential properties across the New York metropolitan area.
In 2020 Unitec became the first member of American Elevator Group (AEG), now one of the largest independent maintenance providers in North America.
More recently, AEG merged NYC Metro businesses Eltech Elevator and Pride & Service Elevator with Unitec, creating one of the largest service providers in New York.
